The Altar of Lineage

✍️ Mikayel · 📅 7 April, 2026

Here, I recount the beauty of a love I once knew,
Sacrificed at the altar of those who claimed to care,
Who promised to be there yet surrendered her to the wind.
Yet, the weight of status and the pride of lineage brought a vicious pain,
Separating them with walls built from the masks that people wear
Before they ever learn the true meaning of humanity.
Yes, they speak of religion, but to what end?
The Almighty crafted souls, not the borders that divide them.
Humanity will only rise when such demons are cast out,
Yet who remains with the courage to oppose them?
Alas, the pair designed by destiny for one another,
Fallen into a world of man’s own cruel design,
Is fading into a silence that no one seeks to know.
And at the end, the poet recalls:
"Let her remain a memory, carrying my prayers within her, Unable to forget, to hate, or to ever love again."

What do you think?
